This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The ice-free point on the NW coast of Snow Island in the South Shetland Islands situated 3.5 km SW of Cape Timblón, 2 km SW of Mezdra Point, and 7.4 km NE of Byewater Point. Shape enhanced by recent glacier retreat ENE of the point. British mapping in 1968. Named after the legendary Khan Irnik listed in the 8th Century 'Nominalia of the Bulgarian Khans'.
