Named after Sir Ernest Shackleton, arguably the greatest British Antarctic Explorer of all time. Latitude 59°00'S - 60°40'S, longitude 61°00'W - 56°30'W. The average latitude should be 59°50'S but was brought to 60°S to include the feature into the limits of the Antarctic Treaty.
