Origin

This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The heights rising ro 2790 m (Mount Mogensen) on the E side of northern Sentinel Range in Ellsworth Mountains. Extending 35 km in N-S direction and 20 km in E-W direction. The feature is upturned U-shaped with its interior drained by the S flowing Vicha Glacier. Bounded by Rutford Ice Stream to the E and Newcomer Glacier to the S and W. Connected to Mount Earp on the NW by Skamni Saddle, and to Mount Weems on the N by Kipra Gap. US mapping in 1961. Named after the settlement of Gromshin in Northwestern Bulgaria.
