Changeover voyage
This voyage performed the second relief of Heard Island and delivered 12 Huskies. A volcanic eruption was observed at Heard Island on 20 Feb 1950. Sites for the meteorological and seismic huts were selected. An emergency provision depot at Spit Bay was erected. A dog pen was constructed. The ship called at Iles Kerguelen to collect diesel fuel for MI.
