Restricted to Taxa group Crustacea

Included are those collections that are published via the DiGIR protocol to SCAR-MarBIN - SCAR Marine Biodiversity Information Network, OBIS - Ocean Biogeographic Information System and GBIF - Global Biodiversity Information Facility.

The reference to SCAR-MarBIN is the count of records that fall within the spatial coverage of the SCAR-MarBIN portal. This was defined as the CCAMLR statistical reporting subareas (view map from SCAR Map Catalogue) but has now been extended to further north to include significant breeding sites such as Macquarie Island. Electron Micrographs - Marine

A catalogue of electron microscopy images mostly of biological origin and used in identifying new species of marine and terrestrial organisms. These organisms are extremely important in the Antarctic food web and many of them have microscopic characteristics which show how successfully they have adapted to their extreme environment.

Historic krill sampling

Krill sampling from 1926 to 2003 from many nations - the Australian records have been included in this collection and these are linked to the particular voyage. This contains details of every single net haul for which there are currently data on the position and catch of Euphausia superba and/or Salps (all species combined, sum of individuals of both aggregate and solitary forms).

Marine fauna survey of the Vestfold Hills and Rauer Island, 1981-82

This dataset is a description of the shallow coastal marine fauna found in the Vestfold Hills and Rauer Island area, Antarctica. The results are from various surveys in this region over a 12 month period in 1981-82, and a full listing of species (with photographs) is given in the documentation. It includes benthic, pelagic and planktonic organisms of the coast as well as those that inhabit the ice-water interface.
