W side of Paradise Harbour, Danco Coast, was roughly charted by BeAE on 10-11 February 1898 and named Île Bryde, probably after Ingvald Bryde (b. 1860), Norwegian agent who arranged the purchase of the expedition ship Belgica (ex-Patria) (Lecointe, map, 1899; SRGA, 1900, p.8; Gerlache, 1902b, p.43, 278).
