(APC, 1955, p.21); following air photography by FIDASE, 1956-57, and ground survey by FIDS from "Hope Bay", 1959-60, renamed Hanson Hill after Thomas Anthony Hanson (b. 1936), FIDS surveyor, "Hope Bay", 1957-59 (APC, 1964, p.3; BAS 250 sheet SP 21-22/13, 1-DOS 1974).
