between Lavoisier Island and Bernal Islands, Crystal Sound, Loubet Coast, was photographed from the air by FIDASE, 1956-57, and surveyed from the ground by FIDS from "Detaille Island" in 1958; in association with the names of glaciologists grouped in this area, named after Henri Arthur Levy (b.1913), American physical chemist who, with S.W. Peterson (Peterson Island, q.v.), determined the location of the hydrogen atoms in ice by neutron diffraction (APC, 1960, p.5; BA chart 3571, 14.vii.1961).
