This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A glacier about 2.5 mi long which flows from Sladen Summit to enter Emmanuel Glacier, in the Royal Society Range, Victoria Land. Named by US-ACAN in 1994 after Richard S. Williams, Jr., USGS research geologist, an authority in aerial and satellite investigations of geomorphic processes and the fluctuations of glaciers on a global basis, particularly in Iceland and Antarctica; co-editor (with Jane G. Ferrigno) of Satellite Image Atlas of Glaciers of the World.
