This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The low ice-free point on the S coast of Byers Peninsula, Livingston Island situated 4.21 km ENE of Nikopol Point, 4.64 km SE of Chester Cone, 1.11 km SSW of Negro Hill and 8.7 km WNW of Elephant Point. British mapping in 1968, Spanish in 1992, and Bulgarian in 2005 and 2009. Named after Dometa, governor of the southwestern Bulgarian province of Kutmichevitsa hosting the mission of St. Kliment Ohridski assigned by Czar Boris I of Bulgaria (9th century AD).
