This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The mostly ice-covered island 2.07 km long in SW-NE direction and 820 m wide in the Dannebrog Islands group of Wilhelm Archipelago in the Antarctic Peninsula region. Surface area 93.32 ha. Situated 52 m NW of Elisabethinsel, 293 m SE of Tsankov Island, 240 m SW of Spatnik Island and 3.01 km W of the W extremity of Booth Island.
So named because of its shape supposedly resembling a stegosaur, and in association with other descriptive names of islands in the area.
