One of the Balaena Islands, off the Budd Coast, Wilkes Land, about 2 km WSW of Thompson Island. The Balaena Islands were delineated from air photographs taken on 2 February 1947 by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47). The islands were probably sketched during an ice reconnaissance flight from the Factory Ship Balaena ten days after the Highjump photography and thought to be peaks. Named after John Grierson, Flight Commodore on the Balaena.

A flat-topped nunatak about 3.2 km long, standing between Ambalada Peak and Terminal Peak in the Prince Albert Mountains, Victoria Land. Mapped by USGS from surveys and USN air photos, 1956-62.

A narrow south-north trending gorge in the Vestfold Hills approximately 20 m wide and 20-30 m deep which runs into a gravel bank at the eastern end of Crooked Lake. There is a small waterfall on the eastern side at the southern end. It is the most easterly of two south-north gorges.

Photographed by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47) and ANARE (1956, 1957 and 1960). Plotted from ANARE air photographs. An astroifix was obtained by G.A. Knuckey on 9 November, 1958. Named Grove Nunataks after Sqn. Ldr. I.L. Grove, RAAF, pilot of the aircraft which made the first landing at the mountains.

Translated from Norwegian the name means "The furrow island". Original spelling was Grovöya with the modern spelling being Gròvøya. Feature first mapped by the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936-37 with the name shown on Hansen Chart - Atlas of Parts of the Antarctic Coastal Lands / Ingrid Christensen Coast / Sheet 10 published in 1946. SCAR map catalogue map number 12811. Name adopted by Australia in 2011.

A submarine ridge on the Kerguelen Plateau about 65 nautical miles from Heard Island. Gunnari Ridge has been mapped by various survey vessels including the Eltanin, Cape Pillar, Professor Mesyutsev and the RSV Aurora Australis. Consistently high catches and abundance of the icefish, Clampsocephalus gunnari have been recorded from this ridge in 150-280 m depth.

A group of mountains on the coast of Mac.Robertson Lane, about 20 km south-west of Scullin Monolith, comprising Mount Hinks, Mount Kennedy, Mount Marsden and Mount Rivett. Land was seen in this vicinity during aeroplane flights by BANZARE under Mawson on 31 December 1929 and 5 January 1931. The area was visited by BANZARE on 13 February 1931, when a landing was made at Scullin Monolith. In January-February 1931, personnel on several Norwegian whalers sketched and photographed this coast and called these mountains Gustav Bull Fjella, after Captain Gustav Bull, at that time whaling manager on the factory ship Thorshammer.

A low conical peak, about 30 m above the ice on the eastern side of the Amery Ice Shelf, about 22 km north-east of Pickering Nunatak.There is an area of low-lying moraine on the western side of the peak. Photographed by ANARE aircraft in 1957. Visited by a geological party from the Soviet Antarctic Expedition in January, 1966. Named after J. Haigh, geophysicist at Mawson in 1965, who accompanied the Soviet party.

One of the Swain Group, Windmill Islands, between Cameron Island and Burnett Island. The region was photographed by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47), ANARE (1956 and 1962) and the Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1956). It was included in a survey of the Swain Group carried out by C.R. Eklund, scientific leader at Wilkes in 1957. Named by USACAN.

An island in the Mackellar Islands lying to the north and north-west of Cape Denison, on the coast of George V Land. Discovered by AAE (1911-14) under Sir Douglas Mawson, who named the group of islands after C.D. Mackellar of London, a patron of the expedition.

A small nunatak just above the lower Nimrod Icefalls. The feature is rounded on one side and cut into sheer cliffs on the other. Discovered and named by the northern party of the New Zealand Geological and Survey Antarctic Expedition (1961-62).
