A distinctive, black, rock peak on the coast of Enderby Land. Seen from the Discovery by BANZARE (1929-31) and named by Sir Douglas Mawson after John Biscoe, who is thought to have discovered the feature on 13 March, 1931, and called it Cape Ann. Mawson applied the name Cape Ann to a point on the coast nearby. Its position was fixed by ANARE survey party in 1957. |

A gneissic mountain between the Matusevich and Tomilin Glaciers in Oates Land. So named by the New Zealand Geological and Survey Antarctic Expedition (1963-64) because three members of the party were forced to abandon their proposed survey and gravity station by a blizzard and after examining the geology sledged several kilometres back to their camp in thick drifting snow. |
