This Macquarie Island relief voyage spent 15 days at the Island. Supernumaries on the voyage included R H J Thompson, Deputy Voyage Leader, who was making his eleventh trip south, four biologists and two scouts. A helicopter was used for survey work whilst unloading proceeded. The survey was of the auroral base line. Hurd Point was resupplied. An iceberg was stranded off Handspike Point.
