The ship navigated with the aid of the ESSA 8 satellite photographs and helicopters in the pack ice. The PCMs were resupplied by airlift. The Moore Pyramid and Mount Creswell summer stations were reactivated. Summer programs in biology and geochronology were commenced at Davis.
