rising to c. 1600m on S side of Wright Ice Piedmont, Davis Coast, was photographed from the air by FIDASE in 1956-57; in association with the names of pioneers of aviation grouped in this area, named after Cl'ment Ader (1841-1925), French pioneer aeronaut, who was probably the first man to leave the ground in a heavier-than-air machine solely as the result of an engine contained in it, 9 October 1890 (APC, 1960, p.2; BAS 250 sheet SQ 19-20/4, 1-DOS, 1974).
