A hill about 30 m high to the east of Alga Lake at the northern end of a broad ridge at Cape Denison. The hill is about 530 m ESE from Mawson''s main hut. The feature was named by Douglas Mawson during the Australasian Antarctic Expedition, 1911-1914 and appears on official maps of the expedition.

The sealers' name for a peak on Heard Island, recorded in the text of the Challenger Narrative and adopted in later editions of Admiralty Chart No. 802 in preference to Emperor William Peak which had apparently been proposed by the officers of the Arkona. The name is now applied to the whole massif and the prominent peaks are separately named.

A high granite bluff on the western side of the Daniels Range in Oates Land. This feature is visible from 95 km north and from many points across the Rennick Glacier (Ross Dependency). Named by the New Zealand Geological and Survey Antarctic Expedition (1963-64) from the saying in George Orwell's novel 1984.

Two small, light-coloured, rock outcrops, about 72 km north of Mount Scherger, in the southern Prince Charles Mountains. They are snow-covered almost to the top of their northern sides, with steep faces to the south. Plotted from air photographs taken from an ANARE aircraft in 1957. A base was established at one of the nunataks by an ANARE survey party led by H Geysen in 1960. Named after a fictional character in the novel "Ascent of Rumdoodle" by W E Bowman.

An island off the eastern side of Browning Peninsula, Windmill Island. The region was photographed by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47) ANARE (1956) and the Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1956). Named after the Reverend H Birkenhauer, F.S J, seismologist at Wilkes in 1958.

A prominent peninsula, the northern extremity of which is marked by Cape Darnley, on the eastern extremity of Mac.Robertson Land. Norwegian whalers explored this area in January and February, 1931, naming the cape at the end of this peninsula Bjerkxodden after Reidar Bjerkx of the whale catcher Bouvet II. Since Sir Douglas Mawson's reported sighting of Cape Darnley was on 26 December 1930, the name Cape Darnley is retained for the cape and the name Bjerkx applied to the peninsula.

A prominent feature, 2,553 m above sea level, at the top of the southern arm of the Darwin Glacier. Discovered by the Darwin Glacier party of the TAE in December, 1957. Named by the Darwin Glacier party because of the sheer black cliffs of the nunatak, especially on the southern side.
