South Angle Lake is located at the western end of Mule Peninsula in the Vestfold Hills close to North Angle Lake. It is highly saline. The lake measures about 400 m by 150 m in size and is a number of metres below sea level. The lake should be considered meromictic.

The Subglacial Highlands are within the Australian Antarctic Territory at the north-west end of the Wilkes Subglacial Basin. They run NNE-SSW and separate the Webb Subglacial Trench from the main part of the Wilkes Subglacial Basin. Discovered and mapped by radio echo sounding by the Scott Polar Research Institute.

A distinctive nunatak 7 km W of Cheney Bluff in the Cook Mountains. The feature rises to 1140 m and is pyramid shaped, especially when viewed from the west.

A rocky hill approximately 500 m southwest of Pyramid Peak. Not an outstandingly prominent feature, but one with substantial scientific significance, for which formal recognition as a geological monument has been considered. Its construction is of submarine lavas erupted from a raised vent in the deep ocean, which flowed from the vent downslope in several directions forming "worm-like" structures which are grey and wrinkled in appearance, resembling elephants" trunks (so giving the hill its proposed name). The vent of course is now raised above sea level and is inactive, but retains its original form and orientation remarkably faithfully, so providing a little-altered deep ocean geological feature in an easily visible position. NOTE by Mapping Officer inserted on 17/01/2006 Feature has also been referred to as Elephant Hill.
